Why are they called birth control pills?

Some women swallow things commonly referred to as being “birth control pills”.

But, they generally take them to prevent pregnancy. They should be called pregnancy prevention pills.

If a woman is about to have a baby pop out and she takes a “birth control pill” what would happen?

Of course, the medical term is oral contraceptive which quite simply and accurately describes them, in my opinion.

There is actually a commercial being advertised right now that calls oral contraceptives “pregnancy control”.

    Blessings.
